When Patty’s family cleared her work cubical they found a large jar containing nearly twenty dollars in pennies.  Since this discovery any time they find a penny they think of it as a penny sent from Patty.  In 2005, One Beacon Insurance where Patty had worked ran a fundraiser called Pennies for Patty in her honor.  In April, 2007 family and friends decided to revive the effort and held another Pennies for Patty partnering with a few local companies.  The fundraiser was a success and will continue to be a twice yearly event occurring in April and October.
